William’s paternal side grandparents (the Calokerinos family) settled in regional NSW (Tamworth) and William’s maternal side grandparents (the Samios family) settled in regional NSW (Barmedman, near Wagga Wagga).

Yota KRILI

Yota Krili-Kevans was born in Kerastari in 1937. After arriving in Australia, in 1959, she worked in factories and at various other jobs while gaining a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Diploma of Education in the University of Sydney. In 1997 Yota Krili was awarded an Australia Council Literature Fund prize of $5,000 for her translation of Women in the Sun (1983) from English to Greek.
