Dr. Kyrimis is a career diplomat (Counselor of Embassy). He has a Law Degree from the Aristotle (State) University of Thessaloniki and has obtained 4 post-graduate diplomas (Paris I, II, XI, I.I.A.P. de Paris) on matters related to Defence, International Law and International Relations. He has also a Doctorate at “Jean Monnet” Law School of Paris XI University. His Doctoral thesis was concerning to legal aspects of EU-NATO-WEU relation.
Before joining the Hellenic Diplomatic Corps, he worked for 5 years at Western European Union, as international personnel, while during his diplomatic career as he worked for 3 years at European Defence Agency in Brussels as Assistant Director for defence and technological industrial matters.
In the spring of 2010, when he returned to Athens from Brussels where he was appointed at the Greek Permanent Representation to the EU, he was seconded as diplomatic advisor at the Hellenic Ministry of Defence and from November 2012 to August 2013 he was assigned as Alternate Director General of National Defence Policy & International Relations.
He speaks English, French and Italian. He is married to Elisabeth Lhuillier, and they have 4 children.
