In 1985, two Feneates, Nikos Kalyvas and Evangelos Tapinos took the initiative to establish a Brotherhood. At first, they visited all Feneates to inform of this decision. Everyone welcomed the idea and so the first steps were taken to register the Brotherhood under the provisions of the Charitable Collections Act, 1934. The Charter was based on an existing one from the Australo-Thessalian Benevolent (founded in 1970) and they adapted the articles to their needs. Next in line of preparations was the design of the stamp: Feneos consists of ten villages and so they matched each village with a star in the center of the stamp. In the circle they wrote three words: Feneos Municipality Brotherhood.
Monday 23rd September 1985. All Feneates gathered at the hall of the Greek Orthodox Church of St Nicholas in Marrickville. They discussed the Charter and the future of the Brotherhood. During this General Meeting they voted for the first committee. On the 3rd December 1985 the secretary sent out a letter to all members with an explanation in regards to the stamp and referring to the objective of the Brotherhood; to maintain our tradition.
