The book of Kostas Tzavellas is based on a true story and is dedicated to the “Greek Conspiracy”. The author dedicates this book “to all the sick, all the poor, all the weak who suffered during this scandal. And to all the strong people who …”stood their ground” and refused to be part of it. The book is also dedicated to the lighthouse of his life, his father Fotis.
The Greek Pension Scandal was one of the biggest campaigns fought by Greek Australians, led by the welfare organisations and social workers. The media played a despicable role. The court case lasted 400 days. Two of the accused pensioners committed suicide during the stressful procedure. The court found no conspiracy and all the accused not guilty.
